Finding Pets Fur-ever Homes: Williamson County Animal Center

A quick search of a site such as Petfinder.com reveals that more than 6,200 pets are available for adoption within 100 miles of Franklin, TN – and that’s just one site. Across the nation, shelters take in more than 7 million cats and dogs each year, most of them found as strays. It takes a large network of support in every community to care for these animals and find them loving homes.

In Franklin, we are so lucky to have the wonderful facility of Williamson County Animal Center to care for our county’s homeless pets. Last year, WCAC adopted out 1,193 dogs and 1,359 cats to their forever homes, and have one of the highest save rates in the state. Their dedicated staff and hard-working corps of volunteers ensure that the animals received at the facility are well-cared for, exercised, socialized, and healthy. In addition to the bright, clean indoor space, the animal center has tons of outdoor green space so the dogs can have walks, playtime, and meet-and-greets.
